Shaun Kelly - Senior Pastor |

Shaun and his family moved to Maitland from Brisbane in early 2009. He has been involved in various ministries in Perth, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and country NSW. Shaun is also a qualified High School teacher and had been working at Maitland Christian School in the dual role of teacher/chaplain. Shaun commenced work as Senior Pastor at MBC in January 2011. He is passionate about seeing God's people loving and building authentic, life long relationships with their colleagues, workmates and neighbours. Shaun is married to Katie and they have 4 school aged children. He loves most sports, especially AFL and NRL. When relaxing in front of the TV, he enjoys watching shows like Grand Designs, MKR and Master Chef. |

Karen Jimmy - Youth Pastor |

Karen (Kaz) Jimmy spent her high school years in Maitland before moving away to Queensland. She spent several years in the Sunshine State, where she was involved with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Townsville & on the Sunshine Coast. Kaz later worked with “The Rock” church in Townsville as Youth Pastor before eventually meeting her husband Lotu in Vanuatu. After a period in Sydney, Kaz, Lotu and their young family moved to Maitland (2006). Three years later (2009) she joined the staff at MBC as Youth Pastor. Kaz and Lotu have two children, daughter Zion and son Abraham. What she likes to do most is hang out with her family who all love making noise. Kaz also seeks to do whatevere she can to encourage young people. Her aim at MBC is to help young people see their lives as valuable and important. This includes seeing them passionate about mission, both local and global. |

Peter Hulsing - Administrator |

Peter was born in Holland in 1942 and came to Australia in 1960 aged 18. He served in the Australian Army (Medical Corps) for 26 years and retired with the rank of major. He saw active service during his two tours of duty in Vietnam and spent 3 years in PNG at the time of them gaining Independence (1975). He next worked with the Liberal Party of Australia as a field officer and eventually served as the senior advisor to the Minister for Veteran's Affairs in the Federal Parliament before joining MBC in 2003 as the Church Administrator. Since then, he has been appointed by the Baptist Union as a recognised Minister and Marriage Celebrant. He loves church life and the many challenges it presents in his role as administrator. Peter is married to Rosie (29 years) and has one married daughter Gemma. Peter enjoys cooking, reading, bodybuilding and watching adventure and Scifi movies. |

Sue Terry - Director Long Day Care |

Sue grew up in Sawtell and moved to Maitland, aged 13. She joined our Long Day Care Centre in 2002 as a Child Care worker and was promoted to the position of Director in 2009. She has been married to her partner Mark for 29 years and has been a part of Maitland Baptist for the past 10 years. Sue loves to be social and make a difference in people’s lives shining the love of Jesus. Sue has three grandchildren and spends a lot of weekends having family time looking after the children or recreational time with family. Sue also has great passion for children and their families but her 800 Bolivar Motor bike is her greatest passion and she loves to ride to feel close to nature and freedom. |

Born and raised in the Maitland district, Anne worked for many years in retail fruit and vegetable management field. After having her beautiful children Anne re-entered the work force in the field of Child Care in the early 90's. Her past experience, passion and love for children combined with her Christ like serving heart seen her move into office and management role. With a Diploma in Out Of School Hours Care and a great team of Directors, Anne currently manages OOSH Centres and Vacation Care sites around Maitland. Anne is married to Ken (35 years) and they have three children and 3 grandchildren. Anne loves to get out and work in the garden, spend time with her grandchildren and use her cooking and hospitality gifts. |

Ken Wethered - Church Elder |

Born and raised in Maitland. For many years worked in fields such as the Building Construction Industry, Vehicle Building and Unemployment Services. Ken has gained skills in Business Management, Career Development, Education and Training. He is an experienced Cert IV Trainer, a Justice of the Peace and Civil Marriage Celebrant. Ken is married to Anne (35 years) with three children Amy, Emma and David and at present has 3 grandchildren. The Wethered family have been attending MBC since 1991. In church life Ken has been a long term member of the Financial Administration Team since 1992, and on the Board of Management for OOSHC and LDC. His local community involvement has seen many years with children in the Little Athletics movement and he is currently a Councillor on Maitland City Council. Ken’s hobbies are working on the hobby farm, breeding Buff Columbian Bantams, fixing things and when time allows some ‘Bullion Stitch embroidery’.

Sally Ashton - Church Elder |
Sally was born and raised in Sydney and moved to Maitland in 1997 with her husband Richard and young family and connected in with Maitland Baptist Church. They have 3 children, Tim (married to Jessica), Sophie and Brittany. She has previously worked on staff at MBC as Community/Small Groups Co-ordinator and currently works part-time with the Baptist Union Coaching & Mentoring Team. In between juggling the roles of full-time mum and part-time work, Sally is also an avid soap maker having taken up this interest just a few years ago as a response to a desire for simple self-sufficiency and a greater awareness of how we live on this earth. She also loves to cook and entertain and is unlikely to knock back an opportunity for coffee or lunch! Sally is passionate about empowering and equipping people to live out God's call for them as well as seeing the Church fulfilling Jesus' greatest commands, "Love God, Love Others, GO into the world and make Disciples"

Stuart Hamilton - Church Elder |
Stuart was born in Cessnock 1947, married Christine in 1969 and lived in Eleebana. They moved to Gillieston Heights in 1981. They have four married children and nine grandchildren so far. Stuart has worked for forty five years as a draftsman after completing a fitting and machining apprenticeship. Presently he works in the coal mining industry helping with the design of coal washing plants. He enjoys drawing, sailing and building things. His hobbies include toy making and house renovation. His favourite television shows are Doctor Who, Foyle's Law, Doc Martin and Coast. Stuart has a deep desire to see his work mates assured of a place in heaven. He also has a desire to see God's grace know throughout this community.

Russell was born and bred in Greensborough in Victoria and is married to Carolynne (37 years) who is a New Lambton girl. They have 3 sons, Ben, Dan and Brad - all three are in "Extreme" bike riding, with Ben competing in the National Championship this year. Russell and Carolynne have been members of MBC since 1997 after having been members of the Singleton Baptist Church. Russell works with J&S Engineering & Maintenance as company representative and travels a lot around the mine sites. Carolynne is the Director of the Thornton OOSH Centre. His long term interest is an old FJ Holden Ute that he WILL finish rebuilding one day, maybe in retirement. He is excited about what God is doing in this church once again and is glad to be a part of it. |

Rosie Hulsing - Church Elder |

Rosie moved from Melbourne to Sydney in her early 20's, met her husband Peter whilst serving with the Army Reserve, settled in Maitland in 1992 and became a member of the church in 2000. Rosie has been involved in the Emmaus program, Kairos, and Kairos Outside and has been a member of the drama group within the church and also the now disbanded G.L.A.D.S. (Great Lakes Amateur Dramatic Society). She delights in people and seeks to encourage them in their potential to develop and grow, and to find a way for them to meet a living Christ. Rosie has had varied work experience in the dental profession, forensic medicine, home interior decorating, and is currently working at St Philip's Christian College, Cessnock as the support staff coordinator at a very exciting time in the life of the college. Rosie enjoys reading, (thrillers, historical novels and anything to do with forensic medicine) gardening, interior and event decorating, 'Googling' and coffee. Rosie has a married daughter Gemma (whom she adores) and is looking forward to the joys of grandmother-hood, all in good time. |

Annette has been part of MBC since 1989. She is married to Ray, and they have 2 married children, who have blessed them with 5 grandchildren.
Annette has worked in the role of Elder for the past 21/2 years. She has worked within the funeral industry for 6 years and is currently working within this industry as a Funeral Celebrant. She is awaiting acceptance from The Attorney General's Department for her registration as a Marriage Celebrant, after completing 4 months of formal training.
She is committed to mentoring women and encouraging them, to let go of their past, for their past is not their future. Encouraging them to be strong, and confident, in all that they achieve. She loves to do coffee, lunch and shop till she drops which is often. |

Margaret Mildenhall - Church Elder |

Margaret and her husband Ross began attending MBC in 1976, with some time out.
Margaret has been a High School teacher, School Counsellor and a registered Psychologist; and is now beginning to enjoy retirement. She has been involved in Music Ministry and Prayer for Healing Ministry. Margaret is very interested in praying for healing in all aspects of people's lives; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Margaret and Ross have two married sons, who live in Melbourne and Canberra. She enjoys surfing the net, knitting tiny garments and reading "who dunnits", spy novels and the Bible. |
